What’s the best advice you’ve received? Let the force be with you.

“Best Advice I Ever Got” is apart of the mentorship theme for the 7th annual Women In Leadership Foundation luncheon held at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim this Wednesday May 2nd.

Any women’s network is a powerful force and it’s alway impressive to see the growth and strength of these groups to support fellow ladies to go out-of-their comfort zone and into greatness. I have to give a shout out to my pal Marinder Dhaliwal (@dhaliwalmk) for her dedication to support and encourage women to take on all mighty roles in the workplace as well as jump start their entrepreneural journey

Approximately, 300 talented, successful, brilliant (and yes, I can go on) will be lunching and hearing from inspirational women in “different industries share their journeys of leadership, how they overcame obstacles along the way, and the best tips for success they have ever received.”

So, what’s the best advice you’ve ever received? In a recent Facebook poll conducted by Women In Leadership, the top advice liked among the community were:

  • Do what you say you are going to do!  [WINNING ADVICE]
  • Focus on quality and integrity of your work not competition
  • You can have it all but not always all at the same time
  • Success comes from your certain passions – be certain and committed
  • Leave your ego at the door [and really listen]

I look forward to tomorrow’s luncheon and hearing from keynote speaker, Wendy Lisogar-Coccha, Chair, Vancouver Board of Trade; CEO, Century Plaza Hotel and Absolute Spa Group.

Ladies – may the force be with you. Follow your passion and the best advice you’ve ever received.

I’m in a Nokia video to test the Nokia Lumia 710 and its Drive app

My gal Lindsay Smith (@TechLinz) and I took a limo ride from the Las Vegas airport to our hotel…only to try out the Nokia Drive app off its Lumia 710 (yes, I did complain on why they couldn’t give us the Lumia 900 to play with…then again, it has just launched that day at CES). Below, is promo video of the Nokia Drive app – after testing it, it was impressive. Loved that it had a 2D and 3D option.

Here’s the video from Nokia’s Conversation series. I’m a goof. I know. But, I’m sure you’ll have a good laugh.

On Da Radio: That’s a CES 2012 wrap

I was on Dotto Tech’s radio show for Astral and chatted with Lindsay Smith (@techlinz) to give the CES 2012 wrap up and highlights. Here’s a link to the segment.

On da radio: CKNW’s Simi Sara Show

I’ll be in CKNW’s Simi Sara Show to talk about recent developments at CES 2012. I’m heading down to Las Vegas tomorrow (it’s my first time checking out this gadgetraviganza).

What to expect at CES 2012:

-       More Android-powered Tablet

  • Fujitsu came out with a waterproof tablet
  • Toshiba has the thinnest tablet
  • …and the tablet wars goes on

-       Smart TV  (is essentially a television that has the internet integrated and holds applications and social media)

  • Samsung leads the way in Smart TV
  • Tho, is Smart TV a gimmick like 3D TV

-       3D TV…we’ll see them. But it seems that no one like them, non?

  • No glasses needed, 3D TV
  • Prettier designed glasses for 3D TV.

-       Nokia Lumia 900

Should Smart TV be called Stupid TV?
